[restaurants] Top Rated in The South End

Addis Red Sea - (617) 426-8727- While this Ethiopian restaurant is a favorite of vegetarians, diners of all preferences will appreciate the food served up here.

Blunch
- (617) 247-8100 - This small spot is great for breakfast on the go (try one of their eggwiches) or grab a quick sandwich and homemade soup for lunch.

Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe - (617) 536-7669 - A Boston tradition, Charlie's serves up hearty diner-style breakfasts and lunches. The turkey hash is a local favorite. Cash only.

Delux Cafe- Escape to Delux when you're in need of a good dive bar with cheap drinks but don't want to leave the South End.

Flour Bakery + Cafe
- (617) 267-4300 - Stop by for a foccacia sandwich or homemade poptart, but whatever you do, don't miss the sticky buns.

House of Siam - (617) 892-4319 - This place is known for its great service and authentic Thai food. Order the Pad Thai.

Picco - (617) 927-0066 - Picco serves up gourmet pizzas but the real draw is their homemade ice cream. Try one of their sundaes or floats - you won't be disappointed.

Toro - (617) 536-4300 - Try Toro's inventive tapas and high-quality cocktails, all of which are served at communal tables. The Maz Asado is always a crowd-pleaser.

Seiyo - (617) 447-2183- The combination of sushi restaurant and wine shop is a little unexpected, but Seiyo shows the two can pair perfectly (and cost efficiently).

South End Buttery - (617) 482-0711 - The Buttery serves up full meals, but as its name suggests, it's really about the desserts here, especially the generously-sized cupcakes.
